The father reputedly said that “you have killed one of your own”, presumably referring to black people as the perpetrators of the killing. This is unsurprising as FBI statistics reveal that the majority of white murder victims are killed by whites and likewise the majority of black murder victims are killed by blacks.

What is disturbing is that black Americans only make up about one-sixth of the population of the USA, so the proportion of black Americans who are murdered (by anyone) is much higher than white Americans.
