I'd class armed robbery as a violent crime.

Yes it was irrelevant to the case, but the media were making him out to be some kind of saint. Would you put a bloke on a pedestal who had 9 drink driving offences, and consider him to be a lovable rougue? The law is the law and we all have to abide by the rules, plus the article was written by the perception changing Snopes website.
does this application of law apply to the police? If so, you'll agree they just can't go round killing people, or treating those who they are charged with custody of with such utter contempt as displayed to Floyd.
With no due respect, that's bollocks. You are advocating treating people differently in the George Floyd circumstance based on their past. And that is unacceptable.
Where have I said that? The criminal case is entirely separate from the opinions that people have of him as a person, and they have no influence on the outcome of the prosecution.

I think most people know George Floyd wasn't a saint, but even the woman in the link who found the way people were trying to turn him into one "despicable" admits that "No one thinks that he should have died in his arrest" and that has to be the overriding consideration surely?
I don't understand the purpose of the article. Irrespective of whether Floyd was a violent criminal or Mother Theresa, he died as a result of police brutality. And given the video evidence, its incontrovertible.

That information makes it understandable and alright then that he was choked to death by a policeman’s knee in public.
Thinking on this, more of these quick judicial processes should be adopted in the UK? We could do with a clear out which wouldn’t cost the country billions in keeping the no good ****ers behind the doors.

It's probably not a good thing for the officers charge to be upgraded as it means he's a lot less likely to get convicted on it. The burden of proof is a lot higher.
They are two separate things. Not one person has condoned the actions of Derek Chauvin, but Floyd is viewed in two different lights, as being either a saint or a sinner.
it would seem only by you. none of us really care about his past, only how he was treated whilst in police custody.
Well I think most people accept that george floyd was a person with criminal convictions who was suffocated to death by a police officer
Loads of people have condoned the actions of that police officer on internet sites all over the world
