Thread: Neil Harris

    Neil Harris

The Bloke has done such a good job so far.
He so somehow managed to get this squad playing some neat football while being quite tough to beat.

Just watched his Post Match interview and he reminded a bit of Eddie May in how he come across 😀

I THINK that you actually mean:

Nice to see he referred to the JBs as “the enemy up the road” in his post match interview.

    I like him.

He’s like a more genuine version of Colin or Malky.

Don’t think he’s playing this fans for gullible fools like his predecessors.

I agree. Mackay's true colours have shown through and we all just tried to ignore Warnock's antics. Harris seems like a great bloke and he's doing a fantastic job.

I disliked the way Milky and warnockosaurus played the gullible section of our fanbase with their post and pre match interviews.
Harris says it like it is no bullshit from him so far.

So true. The only fans who seem to rate Milky are the ones who hate Ta ... Which at the same time makes no sense as Malky loved the red money.

Mackay's first season was incredible. He spent incredibly wisely and completed a total rebuild while keeping us in the top 6. To call him a one season wonder is laughable.

Pah! He inherited some terrific players and had a few quid to spend on transfers and wages too. Marshall, Superkev, Hudson, Mcphail, Whitts. Spine of top championship side right there.

Trying to rebuild a Blackpool or Bolton it wasn’t.

McPhail was ill pretty much all season. We lost Bothroyd, Chopra, Bellamy, Rae, Matthews, Olofinjana, Koumas and Keogh. He brought in Turner, Taylor, Conway, Cowie, Gunnar, Miller, Gestede and Mason. Mackay's recruitment in the Championship was unbelievable.

    Re: Neil Harris

The usual team in 11/12 was:
Marshall; McNaughton, Hudson, Turner, Taylor; Cowie, Gunnar, Whitts, Conway; Miller, Mason.

The players in bold cost about 1.8m combined and were all signed that summer.

Hardly unbelievable we just paid top wages at that time. Most of his signings bar one or two were established championship players. Brentford winkling out unknown gems season after season. Selling on for profit, but better players, improve, repeat. That’s what you call unbelievable recruitment.

So what? Dave Jones signed better players for a fraction of that and had to make do with loans.

Whatever spin you put on it, he did a good job. He barely signed a player who didn't have a good spell with us and signed a few like Gunnar who were unbelievable for us. He's a complete tosser but he was successful.

Ironically the 4 best players in that side were not signed by him.

He did, he also signed some stinkers and we were spending 60k a week on Fowler and JFH at one point!

Without Tans money he was nothing. What’s he done in the game without Tans money?

You still have to sign the right players, how many managers have you seen blow loads of cash? Anyway, I don't even like Mackay.

    Re: Neil Harris

In Malky Mackay's first season, he inherited a squad of just ten players, took the club to the Championship play-offs and League Cup Final where we took Liverpool of the Premier League to penalties.

In his second season, we won the Championship at a canter.

In his third season, we matched Manchester United and beat the then Premier league champions Manchester City.

He wasnt perfect (who is?) but I think it's so strange the criticism he gets from some people.
