The importance of getting a win tonight

In 10 years of playoff matches, when the home team has won the first leg of a playoff match, they have gone on to reach the final 82% of the time. When the home team has failed to win the first leg, they've made the final 21% of the time.

This is mirrored by our own playoff record.

2003: Beat Bristol City 1-0 in the first leg at home. Made the final.
2010: Beat Leicester 1-0 in the first leg away. Made the final.

1997: Lost to Northampton 1-0 in the first leg at home. Didn't make the final.
2011: Drew at Reading. Didn't make the final.
2012: Lost to West Ham 2-0 in the first leg at home. Didn't make the final.

2002 was the exception in that we won 2-1 at Stoke and didn't make the final.

Basically the only time we've ever won at home we went on to gain promotion so very very important!!
