Boris Johnson has excelled himself with his honours list. Apart from the 'services to Brexit' lot, family, cronies and a few One-Nation Tories he wants to keep sweet, he has also included John Woodcock and Ian Austin - a pair of scumbag former Labour MPs (one suspended for sexual harassment, the other a defector who refused to stand in a by election after betraying his electorate) who called on Labour supporters to vote Tory in 2019.

Lord Fowler (the Lords Speaker) was making the point yesterday that there is a general agreement across parties that the Lords should be reduced to a maximum of 600 members (if not abolished or reformed completely as many want). Johnson's latest list of evil smelling additions pushes the number up to near 850.
