    Cardiff finances

Not any new information here I don't think, but Swiss ramble posted an overview sheet for all premier League clubs and most championship ones.
relating to our season in the premier League.

Interesting stuff. The figures that struck me most were the players wages. In the Premier, they were only slightly more than they were in the Championship (54 as opposed to 48), when you'd have thought they'd be much higher. Also, we appear to have made a profit of £51m during that season. We do seem to be running a very tight ship, but also a sustainable one, especially given the receipt of parachute payments.

The championship wages figure was significantly bosted by promotion bonus payments, it would have been running at about 30m before we won promotion, then a load of lump sums made it shoot right up. That seems to be pretty standard though.
we only get 2 years of parachute payments don't we?

Parachute payments are £60m first year, £30m second year.

Lets hope a lot of those wage increases were reversible on relegation then, otherwise we have a lot of players to move on or a lot of savings to be made.

As one of only a few Championship clubs with a guaranteed income this year, does it put us in a better position than other clubs? Are Swansea clean out of parachute payments now?

They were just bonuses for promotion, not just wage increases....I’m sure the wages reversed again.

I meant the actual wage increases the following season, when our wage bill went up to 54 million

Cardiffs total broadcast revenues in the Premier League were £102.74m. Therefore the parachute payments should be £56.5m last season and £46.23m next (55% & 45%).

Any news on the huge Gary Madine loan fee you told us about? When does that get paid into City's accounts?

It could have read a lot worse especially with he financial Covid impact upon us .

The unlikley Warnock promotion could urn out to be be a life saver ??

It appears the club is being run well , of course we get caught cold by Madine type purchases, which club doesn' ??? , the trick is to learn from them .
