Alan Ball's last ever league game. Also Jeff Hemmerman got injured which ultimately ended his career as he wasn't the same after.

    Yeah sad day regarding JH.
One of the few away games I attended in those days, what with playing myself at al, and remember it surprisingly well considering the amount alcohol consumed.
We went by train and got escorted by the old bill from train to ground.
Plenty of singing on the way but I distinctly remember one chant after we passed a row of terraced housing and a lady, pretty fit if I recall correctly, looking out from her upstairs window "get your t!ts out for the boys..."
Oh how we laughed, coppers and all

Bloody 'ell... players trying to stay on their feet!
It was a great day, we arrived early on a service train and were allowed to drink near the city centre without too much hassle.
A lot of testosterone amongst the City support, most would be approaching or past 60 years of age now.

It summed Hemmerman up. He didn’t have to go for that ball. The season was over but he always put in 100%. Such a shame.

The commentator said he was "looking for his 27th goal of the season". Will we EVER get a striker who can get near that total again, doesn't seem like.
