Thread: Kits (not ours)

    Kits (not ours)

It's new kit season - anyone seen anything interesting?

I rather like Marseille 3rd choice

    https://www.footyheadlines.com/2019/...third-kit.html

And Marseille away for that matter

    https://www.footyheadlines.com/2019/...-away-kit.html

Port Vale's new top is a lesson in what happens when you give the job to someone who's supposedly creative in another field

    https://www.footyheadlines.com/2020/...-home-kit.html

and Watford's is possibly inspired by comic art

    https://www.footyheadlines.com/2020/...20-21-kit.html

While Man City's paisley shirt has an amoebic vibe.

This summer I've also learned that there's such a thing called a pre-match shirt (apparently distinct from a training top) and tracksuit tops are now called anthem jackets. So there we are.

Aberdeen away but in yellow with blue and white stripes wouldn't be too shabby.

I get what you're saying and I also like a simple kit but there's something about that one that I really like

    I like the Ajax one!

I’m keen on this Dortmund one as well!

Looks like the Hull City 90s tiger print

I've always wondered why we've never gone for a blue and white quartered kit. Like Blackburn used to have. Back at the start, Riverside played in chocolate and amber quarters, so there's a (bit of) a precedent. Or what about blue and white squares - like Croatia, except blue instead of red? Cool shirt....

No thanks? Quarters and stripes always mess with the badges.

I've sometimes thought a light blue away kit for us (or white and light blue stripes) would be quite smart but wouldn't be allowed cos it's usually seen as a clash but Chemnitzer are showing the way. (And Man City wore light blue when they were last down here).

I quite liked our white sleeved efforts growing up in the late ‘90s (with Modplan or Sports Cafe on the front...?).

Why? They won't be eating them.

    I like that.

Too many teams just stick a badge on a premade template shirt these days. No real design.

I’d rather teams try now and again and miss the mark rather than bore

Is it me, or are kits harking back to the 90s? Are we on the brink of a return to "classics" like these?

That Man City kit has more to do with Laura Ashley than football! Trying to imagine a well honed XXXXL wearing that thing is not good. Could you imagine the shorts?

Yes, they are and I'm loving it - the Arsenal kit this year is a thing of beauty. That Hull one you've linked can **** off though.
