on the face of it good news to develop modern day technical players but think it's too little too late in real terms to make an impact when most other countries been doing this for years

Even though my girls team has moved to 9 V 9 ( with considerable bigger goals ) this season, we have done pre-season with small pop-up goals and 4 V 4 or even 5 V 4 ( the 5 V 4 is to teach them the overlap and what a difference 1 player can make )

all the players get plenty of the ball, when a stronger player approaches a " player needing more dev " ( as we call them ) most the stronger player give them a chance and 2 even coach them a little

we have only got the bigger goal out once and worked on free kicks , to be honest it shattered the GK confidence as she has gone from filling the 7 V 7 goal to looking very small in the 9 V 9 , i have called in a favour from a GK coach to come and give her a extra trainign session to give her a little boost
