    Re: Sala

Reading the whole article it seems they are in discussions with the club and beleive it can be sorted out, so perhaps the lawyer is just trying to apply pressure. They are probably in this position because they didn't like the way the trust was going to be set up or administered or something, which could mean they wanted all the money at once and City said no, bu there is obviously a difference of opinion.

But to be fair CCFC have no obligation to the family what so ever. That may sound harsh but it is legally true. If they said they'd set up a fund then they and the family needs to agree on things. They should know that going public with this kind of crap will not impress VT one little bit, it's more likely to push him the other way.
Bear in mind it was not City's fault he died.

Bearing in mind the source (RT (Russia Today)), this should be taken with a pinch of salt.

The RT article is one of a number re-reported after the Telegraph posted it on Thursday evening.

    Re: Sala

The club need to keep very close watch on the trust because the last thing the club wants or needs is for the money deposited to be frittered away in legal fees to enable the family to take action against anyone they think is culpable. Why the family think Cardiff are being unreasonable is unfair as the club have no obligation whatsoever to provide a trust fund; they would far prefer to have the player that was taken from them in tragic circumstances beyond the club's control.

    Absolutely correct.
no obligation and ,so it appears. the problem is with the family not agreeing the terms,
    .
Simple. Take the offer away and then there are no terms to disagree with.

We don’t really know what the issue is do we?

There was no obligation but the club announced they were doing it so it would be nice to hear their perspective on this.

Not knowing what the issue is obviously doesn't stop some people from making judgements on a subject....

As a matter of interest do you believe everything that the BBC or CNN says?

I only believe what posters say on the CCMB board , reading the media is pointless these days with so much expertise on CCMB ,I'm surprised they haven't formed a new political party via the politics forum contributors.

No, but I’ll bet you’re a fan of Fox News.

Not really a fan of any of them, but I do find data triangulation to be an effective method of information analysis, as opposed to sticking to a few familiar publications that only tell you what you want to hear. Fox and RT both have their uses, depending on the subject matter at hand.
