Also, LA got kind of brushed over. You can add The Doors, Love, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, X, Cypress Hill, The Eagles, The Gun Club, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Megadeath, Weezer, Jane's Addiction, Queens of the Stone Age etc etc.

Budgie had their moments , breadfan is a fantastic song but they were very much influenced by led zep

Nirvana took a mix of metal , indie and punk and came out with something very new

However if it wasnt for husker du , nirvana would not have existed

Nice to talk music with you mate
Another band from the area who were vastly underated was Sassafras. An album of theirs, Expecting Company is exceptional, they were superb live and Dai Shell was a cracking guitarist. Much better than Man in my opinion.

Talking of Budgie, I was checking out some guitars in Gamlin's many years ago, when a truck with the Budgie logo pulled up outside the shop. I couldn't believe my eyes when the band jumped out and came into Gamlin's to do a bit of shopping themselves.

Cardiff post-punk band Young Marble Giants released the album Colossal Youth in 1980 which was well received by the music press. Kurt Cobain said in a Melody Maker interview that Colossal Youth was one of the five most influential records he had ever heard.

Swansea/Liverpool band Badfinger. They are recognized for their influence on the 1970s power pop genre.

Green Gartside from South Wales, his band Scritti Politti were very innovative and influential on the post-punk scene

Manic Street Preachers' Generation Terrorists has its moments.

Minnesota is a state with a population almost twice that of Wales. That's not much of a haul.

Hence why I said maybe. They were from Wednesbury originally, whereas Tim Burgess was from Northwich, and when he joined the band, they relocated to Mcr.
