And they have far superior equipment, they dont have to throw the arrows by hand, and they aint using a bow made of tree bark and string either.

Plus, they only shoot at one target, get it as close to the centre as possible. It would be like darts just playing closest to the bull.

Javelin is the easiest of the lot. No finishing on a double, no bullseye to aim for, just throw it as far as you can.

Obviously. Thats tends to happen when you ask a question - someone gives their answer or opinion.

Written by someone who is a competitive archer and is a qualified coach. I'd expect a professional darts player and coach to write exactly the opposite. Doesn't prove anything. If there are any competitive archers and darts players who can make a valid comparison between the two, then that would give some definitive answer, otherwise all we have are opinions.

I know - I'm not being *entirely* serious.

I do think archery is a lot harder though.

I will stick with my opinion that Phil Taylor being overweight and out of condition is no sportsman and you stick with getting pissed and calling him names from 50 yards away

The UK , USA and Netherlands?

Well there we have it then

do you think a competitive archer or darts player has greater forearm and shoulder strength?

The only sporting comparison we can make between the two is this , arm and shoulder strength

What do you think takes more base strength ? Darts or Archery ?

Its clearly archery even though neither is a sport in reality

Sport isn’t just about strength ffs. It’s about the skill, and the competition.

The nonce has retired. Darts has been taken to another level.

And yes, the UK and the USA, two power houses of the sporting world. If they recognise it as a sport then it’s good enough for me.

Take another L Sludge. Darts IS a sport.

Skill and co ordination for starters. Concentration. All attributes of a good sportsman. The modern day dart player also has fitness practicing up to 7-8 hours a day walking back and forth. That’s a lot of steps.

to be fair if you can stand up , sport England recognise you

Come on now , just look at the physiques of these people , they are not fit , strong or athletic

    They are not sportsmen

They may not be swigging lager or sucking on a fag when the camera is on them but once the lights change......
