Experts reckon unless we see massive change , we have had it

Lots of talk from the world leaders but its all nonsense

Over population in the developing world, and the resultant resources needed to feed and house that population, is the main cause.
Stopping shagging is the way forward.

apparently its the west and China most at fault , converting lands into cattle ranches and the deforestation associated with that .

I thought it was overpopulation but apparently it isn't

Available on i player , must watch TV

Only mammals. Insects out number us by a massive factor.

    Very powerful programme.

1 in 8 species facing imminent extinction. Biodiversity eroded. Habitat loss. Predicted Covid-19 type pandemics every 10 years.

On top of global warming, extreme weather events, loss of ecosystems and the earth's lungs!

It could have been even harder hitting!

Much of it down to man's greed and making a profit.

Yup, and keeping people poor, which contributes hugely towards profit and exploitation. I've always wondered whether a huge worldwide programme that forced countries into lifting people out of poverty, with fantastic health care and Education provision, living standards etc would contribute massively towards improving our chances against the destruction of the planet. Put people in a position where they have the power and intelligence to make informed decisions and counter government policy.

Without a doubt, but you've got more chance of stopping the earth orbiting the sun by using a toothpick.

As long as the world's economy depends on "growth" we've had it I'm afraid.

Absolutely......global warming 9aka now climate change) is the biggest con in history. There IS no global warming since records. There are LESS natural disasters than previous years. How can they say 1 in 8 species facing extinction when they don't even know how many species there are. DO you realise how they gauge that??

The planet is fine - it has ALWAYS changed over the millennia.

    The planet is not fine.

Sure 'it has ALWAYS changed over the millennia' but now it is changing very quickly for the worse over decades!

This is why reading messageboards on serious subjects is a waste of time. This is completely wrong and someone with obviously no knowledge of a subject talking like an expert.
