makeshift XIs very rarely play well together, doesn't mean the players are terrible as individuals (sometimes it does)

The above I took from the other site. Not good enough by a country mile.
just had a look at the thread on the other site and found the comment :
"we need an overall of the midfield"
One of the lads in Swansea's team is from the valleys and was a Cardiff fan
I wonder how many Flint was at fault for.
Difficult one , not a good scoreline, as RJK states makeshift sides can underperform .
My worry with U23 games and senior players actual motivation, perhaps there shoukd be less of them in the starting eleven, and the younger talent given priority, are some carry knocks and using the game as a run out , lack of ganes can effect performance, do some only have their first team opportunity paramount in their minds .
To answer the them topic question.....we don't have any. Only Tomlin as a creative midfielder and he is fat and slow. No proper right back. Right wingers, one of whom is not in the squad (Whyte) and the other last played a League game (except Scottish League and France) two seasons ago. And Bamba as cover for centre back! And Joe Day as reserve goalie.
So no we have little strength in depth, a smaller squad than last year, and some reserve players but no strength.
Is there any reassurance to be had that on Saturday 12 September, our under 18s defeated Bristol City 4-1? Courtesy of Bob Wilson on another thread, still just 15 years old Cian Ashford scored twice for City and in fact he has scored winning goals at this level from as far back as January 2019. First smidgeon of good news on the playing field since our play off away win at Fulham. The signings of Moore and Ojo are also promising I think.
