Why should we as cardiff fans be part of a football league that is competitive but has a small pot of money that helps a club that has been run badly to at least have some breathing space till the fans or new owners can keep the club going ?

I hate Swansea and when they beat Hull to stay up in the football league I was gutted as I wanted them in the conference for 5 years and us to rise up through the leagues and be the the dominant club in south wales like toshacks swansea were in the late seventies and early eighties

But I never wanted them to go out of business , when they nearly went to the wall with doug Sharpe as chairman and the petty business I sent my Jack mate from morriston 50 quid for the fighting fund

Is this what football is now ? Why should he , why should Liverpool help Oldham, its not our fault , they had a dodgy chairman !

Survival of the fittest ?

Football is about losing at home to the side bottom of the league then coming back from two nil down with ten men to win three two

Its about bumping into someone at a wedding or a party who has followed Stockport County since he was 6 or a fella who lives in torquay but travels to Hull 6 or 7 times a season as he grew up there , left for work at twenty but loves his club

If you have to justify the modern game or just say so what thats life then I have to say that you just don't get what society on a bigger level means

Brian Clough was what he called a football socialist , sure he spent money when forest became a big club but todays outrageous money in the game and the lack of redistribution to keep the football family together would have him turning in his grave .

I despair at what football has become

The book by David Conn, searching for the soul of football is many years old now but talked about the monster the premier league was coming

People should remember that hammam shafted Wimbledon and nearly killed us .

When it comes to looking after each other a lot of clubs when we were in and out of court wanted us buried and dead

People should remember that next time macclesfield or Chester or Hereford or Bury are in trouble and their fans are crying out for help from the rest of football

And a player meanwhile is on 600 thousand a week and the premier league pushes for bigger and bigger TV deals

Fight the power
This Brian Clough you talk about, would it be the same bloke as Brian ‘the Bung’ Clough who had to pay the tax man £600000 when he was caught redistributing money from the evil capitalists who run football whilst during transfer deals?

You’re right about everything else.
