    Ampadu on

One hour to make an impression.

    Re: Ampadu on

Interestingly, he has replaced two central defenders in a reorganised defence, with Basham being pushed into midfield after Egan was sent off. Wilder must rate him.

Presumably he'll start the next 3 games. With Bale back at Spurs, Ramsey masterclass last night and this it's been a promising week for welsh football

Wilder has just packed the midfield and got them to sit deep.

Might be a slightly heretical question but who or which part of the zone was he marking from the corner?

That first header should have been dealt with. Wilder needs to do something now. Villa are shit, Wilder decided to play for a point after 30 minutes. if United take a few risks then i reckon that they could get a point out of this.

Quite the opposite. Do you have a view on his positioning for the goal though?

Why would he hate a footballer who he doesn't know?

Yes, at least one, possibly two Sheff Utd players failed to track their man. Ampadu has had a good game so far.

Maybe it's not the footballer who he hates

Ampadu is a midfielder, so he could have played there, but Wilder put him at the back and pushed Basham forward.

If Amapdu was half as defensive as WB is being on his behalf, it might still be 0-0.

(just kidding, haven't seen any of the game until now).

Average performance in an awful game.
Villa will struggle this season again.

Midfielder-Defender-that's up for debate, isn't it? He hardly pushed Basham forward, just tried to stop Villa playing through his team by crowding the middle, almost worked though as Villa only scored from a set piece that should've been dealt with. Maybe he thinks that Ampadu is a bit more mobile than the other guy.

He had a decent game under the circumstance being a man down. It was like watching a game of attackers v defenders.

Yup, Villa didn't have many ideas, it was only after they scored and SU decided to come out to play a little that we saw an element of play.

That's what I mean, Wilder played him at the back in his first Premier League game.

I think he's basically a centre back these days.

I prefer him just in front of the back four, or in a back three where he has more chance to play out, which is one of his greatest strenghts.

Time for some real football now .... Wolves v Man City. Will VAR strike again?

    Re: Ampadu on
