Wiki says :The club was formed in October 1864 by members of the Wrexham Cricket Club, who wanted a sporting activity for the winter months, which makes them (after Sheffield, Cray, Hallam, Notts County, and Nottingham Forest) the sixth oldest football team, third oldest professional club and the oldest in Wales.

Thank you my wiki slave. They have more a heritage than I had previously thought, surprised they have had such little success given how long they have been around and a decent catchment area representing pretty much the whole of North Wales - I think deadpool and his mate saying they will become 'a global force' is a bit of a piss take though!
