Under 21's in an important game away against Belgium on 05/10 and four players called up from U19's side, including Sam Bowen.

For the senior side, a (media and twitter headline grabbing) friendly against England on 08/10 followed by important Nation's League games away against Ireland on 11/10 and Bulgaria on 14/10.

For the friendly, I would like to see Adam Davies, Tyler Roberts and Rabbi Matondo get minutes as players who have been unlucky not to appear in more substantial role under Giggs. Tyler Roberts is playing as a 10 for Leeds so that means HRK getting a start and hopefully resting Ramsey, Moore, Ben Davies, Connor Roberts, Ampadu and maybe Brooks too.

Good to see some more City representation in the Under 21s, but the fact that James Waite is in it does beg the question what on earth is he doing on loan at Weston?

Re: International football: squad announced for Wales' senior and U21's next round of fixtures

In a lengthy 46 game league season, how on earth do we expect Moore and Vaulks to play loads of additional international games without breaking down with over-use injuries. Remember that Ryan Giggs in his playing days was only Welsh when it suited him - as the old City fans’ chant went!

    No Gareth Bale?

8 current or former City players in the U21s. I have a feeling letting Spence go will come back to haunt us

Didn't we offer Sion Spence a contract but he chose to go elsewhere as his chances of making the first team would be greater anywhere else but here ?

Three games in an international window is absurd given how many games are being crammed into a short period of time and would appear to be more political/financial decision rather than sensible compromise. The next year of football will give sides who can rotate a massive boost and force those with less depth into uncomfortable positions.

These two sides highlight how important it is to have at least one tier one academy in Wales. With Swansea having to cut theirs, any news on Tan's plan to introduce that here?

Yes, I believe Spence wasn't realeased by City, he chose to turn down the new contract he was offered.

Pretty sure I read on Wales Online last week that City's plans for applying for Category One status have been put on hold.

That is perhaps an inevitable consequence of coronavirus but does highlight the need for at least one of to get back to the premier league asap. At the moment that seems more likely to be Swansea, even if they are doing it by developing England's youth side.

Hopefully our 4th or 5th review of academy system in past 10 years and a manager who wants to use it finally produces some big talent from our side of things.

Giggs was brutal with the centre backs, although it was the right thing to do player wise.

Why did we need the England friendly?

Why a friendly or why England?

Three game windows are here for a bit longer thanks to UEFA: https://www.uefa.com/insideuefa/medi...tember-nation/

    22–31 March 2021: 3 dates

31 May–8 June 2021: EURO preparation friendly matches

    30 August–8 September 2021: 3 dates
Why England? Maybe Giggs is going down the Warren Gatland route of knowing England are going to get deep into the next couple of tournaments so best to test ourselves/practice playing them now. Perhaps both nations saw it as the easiest and least expensive thing to arrange (obviously we can't play Ireland) under potential coronavirus conditions.

Perhaps it means that a lot of U21 football isn't played at a particularly high standard?

Bit of both really, fair points.

Mostly I didn't realise everyone or most were doing the three matches, seemed a bit unnecessary.

    Joe Rodon 22 - (23)

    Chris Mepham 22 - (23)
    Ben Cabango 20 - (21)

Yes, very good move by giggs especially with the euros now next summer. They are all still young for central defenders so they need as much experience as possible.
