Thread: Help The Homeless Cardiff

    Help The Homeless Cardiff

during the previous corona outbreak the homeless were provided with a roof over their head

Since the lockdown eased many have found themselves back on the streets and now the weather has turned its bad news for them

Some are homeless because they are ex offenders , some have serious mental illness , some are escaping abuse and violence

There is a saying that in this day and age there is a place for everybody and the hostels always can put someone up

But the reality is some people have so many complex emotional and behavioral problems that it it is very hard to care for them

The hostel environment is also extremely hostile at times , violence is common and drug use and dealing often goes on around these places

As hard as it is to imagine some people would rather sleep under a railway bridge at cardiff Central or sleep in a tent in Blackweir than stay in a hostel and get assaulted

Help the Homeless Cardiff , which can be found on Facebook visit the rough sleepers with donations of deodorant , fresh wipes , underwear , old jackets , socks , shoes , toothpaste , toothbrushes , tracksuit bottoms , trainers , hooded sweatshirts , waterproof trousers and jackets , whatever you can give .

    Keep safe

I fully agree that aggressive street begging is out of order and you have personal experience of this

But there are many street homeless people who hide away in secret places away from the police and other violent homeless people and rely on voluntary organisations to drop of clothing , food etc to keep them going

These are the people that need help this winter

    Re: Help The Homeless Cardiff

Went to my local drop off point and there were loads of winter coats , waterproof jackets , trainers , shoes , deodorant , wet wipes , tracksuit bottoms , thermal tops, hooded sweatshirts and t shirts , trousers etc being donated and delivered tomorrow

These people are not the street beggars that can intimidate the public , these people don't to to hostels as they are afraid of drugs and violence . These people sleep in parks , alleyways , under bridges , they are very vulnerable people . They are the hidden homeless not picked up by the council because it is the council that moves them on to keep cardiff pretty . They have terrible physical and mental health problems . It is organisations like help the homeless cardiff that step in and get these people clothing, food , medical attention , fix up a new tent for them if their old one let in water .

These people are high risk of dying because of the cold

Help the homeless cardiff are a brilliant organisation if you can donate to them any unused or old clothes , toiletries , shoes , packaway tents , winter coats etc please get in touch with their Facebook page

    Cheers
