    Rumour #1 Alex Mowatt

Not sure if he's the answer to the number 10 vacancy, but a solid player.

I think he'd probably be a bit better than what we've got as a back up to Tomlin, but he's another who is probably best suited to play a bit deeper and I'm sure Barnsley would still want a decent fee for him - it reads like a loan deal in January with a view to a permanent transfer type situation to me.

Interesting to see a link to a story there about that the player QPR fans would most want back out of those who have left the club in the last five years and the "almost unanimous choice is Alex Smithies.

He tore us apart before playing for Leeds. Surprised they let him go.

There were highlights of a Wolves-Leeds game from 2015 on Sky the other day and Mowatt took Wolves on in the second half almost by himself. Sol Bamba was in that Leeds side as well. His career stats don't scream playoffs, though. Joe Ralls has a better scoring and assist rate than Mowatt.

    Hardly screams “playmaker”, does it...

Mowatt can play football. It's a yes from me.

A decent player. 25 years old. 40+ games started over the last couple of seasons. I'll take two!

8 assists for each of the 2 previous seasons (one in League 1).
Tomlin had 10 last year and just 1 the season before.

Id take a punt on him , more than a holding player in my view , he has a few more tricks in the baq than that role ,good age 25 ,energetic , experienced at this level 208 appearance 26 goals ,market value suggest 2 million

Not to the detriment of strengthening in other areas. He's not what we need unless we get rid of one or two of Vaulks, pack, Ralls or Bacuna.

He's energetic but vey slow and we need to increase the pace of our squad not slow it down.

Steve Mcphail was slow, but we played fast football with him in the side - if you have someone deep who can pass well there's nobody who can run as fast as a football is kicked.
