My 1959 VW Splitscreen camper ( its Lovely, not concourse quality, but very nice )
Wife's VW T5 ( now done over 300 K )
Daughters Toyota Aygo
Family citroen C1 ( its somewhat of a family pool car, lovely cheap runaround )
My vauxhall vivaro ( its my work van, its been on its death bed for 3 years now, but it still keeps going )
I really fancy a Mk 1 Escort now, been looking for a few weeks, got some money to blow and why not blow it on a classic Mk1 Escort ? ? ? not sure if its just the mood i am in, a midlife crisis, or just something to help me look forward ? ? ?
then again i have always fancied 4 X 4 off-roading, living 10 mins from Salisbury plains makes me think maybe now is the time to indulge in that " 5 minute wonder idea "
Refurbished Triumph Bonneville for the weekend and leisure and a Honda Blade for everyday use.
Cant beat that open air feeling
Hate cars
Replaced the Black Jeep Commander in my avatar (loved that car) with a newer Grand Cherokee in white - with a black CARDIFF plate of course.
Must get someone to change the pic for me - have tried several times but just can't work that one
Not more rust!
A 15 year old Focus with 180,000 on the clock. An original Mini with 29,000 miles on the clock. Looking to get a Mk1 Escort RS2000 or Mexico if I can find somewhere to keep it.
Crazy money at the moment I started looking for one about 10 years ago and I thought the prices were way too high back then. They've doubled in price since. Like you, I had a Mexico avo and sold it for next to nothing back in the 80's.
Funnily enough I found an old car magazine a few months ago, dated 1983 and had a quick flick through. Loads of RS's, Mexicos going from £500 to £2000.
If only I had a time machine
Mercedes 180d
I used to live near a guy who was the editor of " mini world " ( or something similar in name ) he was rebuilding a mini at the same time as i was doing the VW Splitty, the prices he was paying were fair, he did his mini for just over £1000, i showed him a cargo door handle for the VW that cost £750 i was rather envious
electric bicycle
A 2011 Freelander 2
I’ve got a A180 and was 100x more happy in my beat up KA that was worth 100th the amount.
Golf best car I’ve had in terms of value for money
Mercedes. Style over substance.
Ah, you should do it! And splitting the cost is a great idea.
I SORN the car in the winter and keep it in our garage but this summer I have done Donington, Castle Combe, Oulton Park and Thruxton.
I’ve done most of the UK circuits now as well as Spa and The Nordschleife.
But you should do it. You won’t regret it honestly.
Let me know if you want to chat it through as it took me a while to convince myself
Used it as weekend car Matt. I am quite hard on my cars so changed the IMS bearing as soon as I bought it .
I would imagine it would be a decent track car on a larger circuit . The power is smooth where as track cars need low end grunt on the tighter circuits .
If you dont know about the IMS bearing this is worth a read.

Company car. Jag XE. Just about to switch to my final company car a BMW 3 series. It’s a hybrid automatic. I’ve driven over a million miles in my life and really won’t miss it when I retire. Having a nice car is great but really counting the days until I retire.
