Don’t think you’re right about wanting to sell him, every player has his price and the talks of £10 million would be very good for the quality of player he is - good but at that price you’d have to consider the offer and probably accept.

No thanks. The club are not going to reinvest the 10m so would rather keep our influential captain and one of the best centre halfs in the league thank you very much.

It was a functional win which I’m sure that we are all very pleased with. That doesn’t mean that you/one can’t still be objective.

The way I remember it, people were giving objective opinions on how the squad could be improved based on a reported multi million pound offer.

    He played well today.

It’s amazing how people have short memories not so long ago he was a liability in a lot of fans eyes, all of a sudden he’s indispensable.

    [QUOTE=Michael Morris;5126033]Sunday October 18th, ko 12noon

    Live on Sky

    Match Officials:

Great to get the much needed 3pts, keep a clean sheet and put in a good performance.

    My only complaints being:
    We lacked creativity
Ojo is not direct enough. On the one occasion he was, he scored!
    Sadly, Hoilett isn’t adding much.
In the last 25 mins we reverted to not holding the ball and inviting Preston on.

I thought that was a solId performance and a good win. We’ll need more of those this season.

Quote of the day, Alex Neil: "I don't think Cardiff are far better than us." OK, ta.

When were people calling Sean Morrison a liability?

He was poor.....not sure how much if it was down to those around him though - for one of the chances he had to mark 2 players

Look back over the past few years.

Yes when he first came in 2014 people said we had paid far too much for him and compared him unfavourably to Mark Hudson.

When Hudson came people compared him unfavourably to Riger Johnson

Johnson played 119 games for City

    Hudson played 144

To date Morrison has played 220.

This is excellent analysis - I remember Morrison (and Hudson) both getting off to slow starts here, but both came good in the end for us.

I was hopeful of the same happening with Flint.....

Flint is a good player at this level, just didnt work out with us for some reason.

Over the years we always seem to have had good centre backs

Morrison, Bamba, Hudson, Johnson, Purse, Gabbidon, Collins, Young, Ford etc

But the number of fullbacks we've had that everyone agrees are good is a very short list.

Strangely I was having this conversation with a fan of anothe championship team and they said exactly the same thing about their club, I wonder if everyone thinks the same about their centre backs.

Trues. In terms of centre backs, think most liked Loovens?

However misguided, some people wanted to sell him for the money, not because he doesn't contribute.
