I'm not sure if The Sensational Alex Harvey Band have ever ome under your radar? I was lucky enough to catch the on their last ever concert, headlining the Reading festival in 1977.
Here's a clip of the guitarist, the extremely under-rated Zal Cleminson, showing how a great guitarist plays the guitar properly. I came across it last night for the first time. The clip is from 2006. I saw them at the Point that year, in Cardiff Bay. Enjoy!

They were looking for a sax player for some new recordings and asked Gilad Hekselman, jazz guitarist who I think lives in New York. He recommended him as they've worked together in the past.

I had a listen.....hmm, not quite my scene. As an aside some years ago I worked for a pharmaceutical company based in Crawley. The MD was a man called Smith and his son was Robert who sang for The Cure. One Christmas at the usual company lunch Robert and his band played in the canteen, it was a little before he broke into the big time, and people asked him to stop because they couldn't hear themselves speak. Happy days
