    After 9 games

Here's a table of all of our seasons at this level since promotion in 2003 after 9 games.

    Season Pos P W D L F A GD Pts
    2003/04 9 9 4 2 3 19 12 7 14
    2004/05 23 9 1 2 6 6 15 -9 5
    2005/06 14 9 3 3 3 11 12 -1 12
    2006/07 1 9 6 2 1 18 8 10 20
    2007/08 16 9 2 4 3 13 13 0 10
    2008/09 7 9 3 5 1 10 8 2 14
    2009/10 9 9 4 1 4 13 10 3 13
    2010/11 2 9 5 2 2 14 7 7 17
    2011/12 5 9 4 4 1 12 8 4 16
    2012/13 1 9 6 1 2 17 10 7 19
    2014/15 15 9 3 3 3 12 12 0 12
    2015/16 5 9 4 3 2 13 10 3 15
    2016/17 21 9 2 2 5 8 15 -7 8
    2017/18 3 9 6 2 1 14 8 6 20
    2019/20 12 9 3 4 2 11 12 -1 13
    2020/21 17 9 2 4 3 9 10 -1 10

This is our third worst start to a season, behind Trollope's disastrous efforts and the relegation threatened second season with Black Friday, Earnie and Kav being sold etc. Oddly enough we had a similar record in 2007/08 after a poor start but made a cup final.

I suggested recently that the board might be getting a bit twitchy with Harris. Both Solskjaer and Warnock had better records than Harris does this season when they were pushed. We're only 2 points better off than we were under Trollope after 9 games.

Scoring is a problem. In only 2 other seasons have we scored less after 9 games than we have currently this season. While we know there have been less goals around the Championship this season, I think most of us acknowledge we start games poorly as a rule. Conceding 10 in the 9 games isn't too bad at all.

At the time of sacking, Warnock had a points average of 1.31. Solskjaer had a points average of 1.14. Trollope had one of 0.73. Harris's stands at 1.11. Given our board's previous with regard sacking managers around this time of the season, it might be safe to assume Harris has two games to save his job.
