    so..in a nutshell...

    ..(I know it's been mentioned)..
Scotland get to play 2 games at home
England play just about all the games at home
We play 2 in Azerbaijan snd one in Italy..against the Italians.
How the **** is that deemed as a good idea for a tournament

Isnt there talk of the tournament now being held in just 1 country, with Russia on standby to step in as hosts?

If the games do go ahead in Azerbaijan (not the most exciting of places unless you are interested in inequality of wealth and small mounds of plopping away in the desert*) don't try getting into the country if you have an Armenian stamp on your passport or if you have visited Nagorno-Karabakh. And if the conflict in the latter location continues the games could possibly be a target too.

What I assumed was the original concept for the finals was a good thing I think

Spread it around so that the smaller nations who could never realistically host a tournament get the chance to have some games there.

That clearly wasn't the case when the likes of England Italy, Spain, Russia etc decided to take part and were awarded games.

Now it's difficult to see what the point of it all was.

Ah yes but, we had the Champions League final so we should be grateful for what we were given.
How the hell is having one game, albeit the biggest club game, equal to England and Scotland having multiple games?

Again, it seemed like a good idea at the time but it has panned put as not only being unfair but a logistical nightmare.

Also, wasn't Platini still in power when the decision was made?

I can understand the original concept but playing in so many different countries waters down the excitement of reaching the final stages of a major tournament. In effect it just feels like an extension of the group games. Plus the difficulty imposed on fans wishing to travel to certain destinations. Overall what a crap idea.

We had the CL and Supercup finals instead of having a slice of this particular pie.
Our own stadium got an upgrade on the back of it.

I doubt they'll let fans in anyway, I had tickets for Wales' games but can't see them letting thousands travel all over Europe so soon

Sorry I probably worded that badly. I thought we wouldn't have got the finals without the upgrade.

Azerbaijan have just recently had a war with Armenia.

UEFA have ballsed this right up.
