I can't believe how far backwards we've gone in such a short time.Mistake of the century letting Edwards go. Scotland's secret weapon was letting their forwards coach come back to Wales and employing a defense coach that was part of that great side of the 90's that lost to South Africa 98-0 was a typically shrewd move by the WRU.
To me, losing Gatland and Edwards, was akin to Man Utd losing Fergie.
Almost impossible to replace.
Cut our losses and go for Joe Schmidt whilst he’s available?
dai bishop still bitter after all these years with the WRU

I tend to agree with you there. We just have to hope that this transition period does not lead to a permanent decline.
At the end of Gatland's reign, even the older players were still able to produce the goods more often than not. It's like deep inside they know their days are numbered and there is only so many times you can reach a pinnacle in your career.
We have never had an all conquering pack and this weakness is becoming more evident with every test match we play. At the moment we just cannot match the animalistic aggression shown by the Irish and Scottish packs or the technique and talent of the French and English.
Even our much vaunted backs seem laboured and lacking in ideas at present.
Clutching at straws, we rarely produce our best in Autumn internationals so I live in hope that some of them at least can raise their game by the time the 6 Nations is upon us.
didn't have you down as an egg chasser latcher

As a youngster growing up, I lived and breathed rugby. Unfortunately, by the time I got into high-school, I didn't have that growth spurt that others did. So I decided to turn my attention to alcohol and football violence instead... occasionally meeting up with the likes of you, SBF, Wolf and Matt in the process!
