Have you visited Naples? Interesting place, how they idolise Maradona is quite something. They see him as representing their city, the poor and he was basically the rebel pissing all over the Northern establishment.
Never been to Naples, would love to go, and maybe travel around Southern Italy. They were seen as shite by the Northern establishment.

Deep mistrust and resentment of Northern Italy and rightly so. Maradona even asked the Neapolitans to support Argentina over Italy in 1990 World Cup semi final due to the animosity.

Well worth a visit Naples, vibrant, wild and energetic. The whole place can seem like chaos. The surrounding area is stunning too.

There a a few shrines to Maradona in bars and coffee shops around Naples - and his image is everywhere!

I’m not over exaggerating when I say Maradona seemed to represent the psyche of Naples.

It’s a little different from the polished Northern cities of Milan, Turin and Florence.
