I say that in the scale of things, of the 24 teams that play each season in this league for the combined majority of those we we are relatively big spenders. 2 promotions i feel is testament to that. I'm putting my neck on the line with what i perceive to be a fact, not an opinion.

It’s ok I’m sure Eric will be along to defend the signing of Whyte. Only cost 2m. No harm done.

Free signings on short term contracts, some work out, some don't.

Whyte never looked up to much for us. Never £2m. Poor.

Warnock's signings prior to the start of last season were dreadful and have helped put us in this position. However, that's not the reason for inept performances like we've seen this season.

Does "the reason" suggest there is just one? There are several reasons we have looked inept this year and Warnock's poor transfer window(s) plus inability to develop the players already here are right up there.

I totally agree. The shortermism of our promotion to the PL and total failure to build on it are major factors (that includes Warnock). Still think Harris has lost it though and that is costing us more than anything else at this moment in time. We're still better than 18th in the Championship.

5 players on the pitch tonight that continually turn out for us, both last season and the season in the premier league. That's a spine and i agree we are better than 18th.

    Exactly.

People blaming Warnock for Harris's ineptitude is laughable. Why not blame Trollope and Slade as well? And OGS and Malky.

The squad is old and not half as good as we think. Warnock pissed all the money we had to spend up the wall. You love to slag off Glatzel as much as anyone, who spent 5.5m on him? Nelson, Whyte, Flint, Pack, Vaulks, Glatzel, Day, Vassell! Our rebuild was done at great expense and one player improved the side, and now we can't afford to improve. We were just as bad under Warnock last season as well. He also bombed out the one player that could play in Reid.

Because Harris isn't lumbered with crap players signed by them.

Didn't whoever followed OGS (was it Slade? It was instantly forgettable....) inherit all of his rubbish signings, or did I just imagine all of those Scandinavians that no one had ever heard of? And did we all then blame OGS for Slade being rubbish?

I think that the way we handled ourselves in the premier league the season prior, it was not unreasonable to expect a team to be sat in the top 6 the following season (Throughout!). Especially given our long standing in this division and spending.
Did you see the signings we made in the summer of 2019?

Youve still got to spend it wisely. We completely wasted a lot of money last season but even then it was nothing compared to what others in the division spent.

Brentford just signed a striker for 10m. We signed one for 2m.

They also just sold one for £38 million!

In your opinion. We are lumbered with this squad thanks to Warnocks spending and covid. We can’t even afford two right backs in our squad.

Yet we've brought in 2 attacking midfielders on loan from the same club....

Were you happy to start the season with our attacking midfield options before doing that? If memory serves that was made up of Murphy, Whyte, Hoilett, Patterson and Tomlin.

No, it needed improving. I'd argue that our attacking options have never improved from Bothroyd, Chopra, Burke and Whittingham.

    Spot on

It will take several windows to put it right and changing the manager continuously won’t help.

Ones a winger replacing Mendez Laing, but I suppose that’s Harris fault too whatever NML has done so wrong that no one wants to touch him with a barge pole.

That has also had an impact on the club. We're still no closer to finding out what happened there.

The club could easily have brought in a right back on loan. Sanderson was touted for a short while. That failure is a cock up by the transfer committee.

They went for Wilson, and we're now skint. Sanderson is absolute garbage so I'm glad we didn't go back in for him but the lack of a right back means we're missing Bacuna in the middle. NML has had a massive impact and we've shifted some big characters in the dressing room. Granted they were on big money but I think it's had an impact.

I've no idea why we risked Osei-Tutu against Middlesbrough. Right-back is the one position where we can't cope with a long-term injury.

For what it is worth a poll on the other site has seen around 100 vote already with over 95% wanting Harris gone.

Harris needs to drop a few players and try something new.
