Watford is our biggest test yet of the season as are the others in December , now we will see shall see if the current side has the ability and effort to get this done

Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

Judging by the highlights Watford did not play well last night (0-0 v Forest) but having spectators is likely to give them a lift.
This is going to be a tough one, and I promise not to be too judgemental on Harris if we lose.
That can wait till we play the Jacks.

Watford still have a very good squad, the likes of Troy Deeney, Joao Pedro, Will Hughes, Nathaniel Chalobah, Andre Grey, Etienne Capoue, James Garner would walk into almost any Championship side, including ours.

Will Hughes was being mentioned as a potential England player a few seasons ago, and he's played a total of 9 minutes for them this season.

Watford's home form is excellent, their away form poor. They have a decent side. Hopefully not so decent Saturday.

Like a lot of sides with Premiership players they can be got at , you only need to look at the Luton and Wycombe results yesterday

But also like a lot of sides ith premiership players, if they get their shit together they can steamroller sides in this division.
And somewhat concerningly all 3 premier league sides seem in less disarray this season than you typically see from relegated sides.

Yes, this has been the strongest relegation trio that we've had for quite a few seasons.

I wonder if the nature of the pandemic has aided the relegated sides (on the playing field at least) this season? Has there been a transfer market suppression compared to other seasons in terms of volumes of players coming and going? More settled squads and starting line ups?

The three relegated do look like they’ve taken well to dropping down a level this season. Although saying that, it’s very tight at the top at the moment - 3pts between 1st and 8th.

Yes they all seem to have held onto their best players, players like Buendia were linked with some top clubs but finds himself playing in the championship.

Yes, I can see Harris changing the starting eleven in an effort to add numbers to the midfield and we will lose

Re: WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

Watford play 442 so it will be interesting to see if Harris matches up or decide to 'Pack' the midfield.

Perhaps it’s because they’re not really established Premier League clubs, all are smaller clubs than us and used to playing in the Championship? Unlike the likes of Leeds,Villa,Sunderland,Forest,Sheffield Weds etc who thought they’d just waltz their way back due to their history. Funny to think that before they had money we pinched Malky from Watford!

are Norwich and Watford really smaller than us?

Norwich have a very well regarded director of football as well, and I think Watford operate with that model as well, so that helps with the longer term planning
