    Best at a festival (as opposed to in a hall somewhere) would be Pixies, at the Reading Festival 1990. I saw them a few years later, in Gloucester, and they were just as good. The rest of the line up was pretty good too, including the Cramps, Buzzcocks, Nick Cave, and also Martin Stephenson on the side stage. But Pixies were staggering.

    some of their very early stuff rocks my boat , in trance live off the Tokyo Tapes is great

    Blackout is the last of their great albums for me
