First time we've had a female as 4th official?

4th official I think possibly yes.

Assistant no. Here Kevin McNaughton makes his presence felt

    That was funny.

Dont think we've had a female ref either. Would have been dangerous if McNaughton had still been around. 🙄

We had Andy Davies twice last season, 3-0 defeat at Reading and a 1-1 draw at Brum

Re the McNaughton incident. I was at that game, and I'm sure I remember the Silver Fox going to her, to check she was okay - but there's no sign of that on the footage.

Anyone Remember Rotherham away on New Years Eve? Mid 90s. What a waste of time that was. Miserable.

I just remembered I spent that weekend in Liverpool. Went to Liverpool v Norwich on the 2nd. I think that was the first time I saw a "Monday Night Football" game on Sky too.

It's so lame we didn't have a game today. I'm sure I can remember us playing two games in two days when I was a kid.

No, but I just checked and I remember seeing us lose there 5-2 on 3rd Jan 1994. And it poured with rain :-(

Rotherham is far from one of our favourite away trips. In 24 away visits, we've won 3 and lost 17. Eddie May's side won there in February 1992 to record our first ever win in Rotherham. We had lost 13 of the previous 14 away games there.

We opened our first season back at this level with a 0-0 at Rotherham. That draw marks the only clean sheet we've ever managed there. Since then we've won twice, drawn once and lost once.

Quiz question - who is the only City manager to have a 100% record at Rotherham as manager?

No. Actually, there's two. I'd missed out on one. Warnock beat his old side 5-0. Still looking for the other.

    • Rotherham United have won their first league match in each of the last two calendar years, winning 2-1 vs Preston in 2019 and 2-1 vs Blackpool in 2020.
    • Cardiff have lost their first league match in each of the last three calendar years, including a 6-1 hammering at the hands of QPR last year.
