My brother lives east of Tewkesbury, well inside England, and his local is run by an oriental family. I have to do a second take as to how to mispronounce Butty Bach when ordering a couple of pints there as neither punters nor staff are familiar with the correct pronunciation.

Someone bought me a couple of bottles of Duvel Triple Hop Citra for Christmas. Best beer I've had in ages but it will blow your head off at a walloping 9.5%. You can get it in Tesco round here but not sure if it is available in Cardiff. If you see it then grab a bottle - it is amazing.

I'm a huge aficionado of Belgian beers but not so keen on Duvel. Westmalle Bruin, St Bernardus and Leffe Bruin are my favourites and the latter is available in both Asda and Tesco.

I find the ordinary duvel to be a bit bland but the tripel is worth giving a go if you can find it.

Chimay Bleue is my favourite Belgian beer. Quality not quantity.

Have anyone tried La chouffe beer?
La Chouffe is an unfiltered blond beer, re-fermented in the bottle, as well as in the barrel. It is pleasantly fruity, spiced with coriander and has a mild taste of hops.

LA CHOUFFE leaves citrus notes on the palate, followed by a refreshing, pleasantly spicy note, giving it a lovely lightness. With its 8% alcohol content and slightly hoppy taste, this golden beer has won over beer lovers from all over the world down the years. Its unique taste has won various awards.

[Taffy Blue in Berkshire]

There are so many nice beers out there and all readily accessible.

I like hoppy ales so my list includes:-

1. Sierra Nevada - in bottles, don't get the cans. They also do a Torpedo which is strong.
2. Proper Job - £1.49 from Tesco, also try Big Job which is a lot stronger.
3. Brewdog Dead Pony Club and Punk IPA are very drinkable but interestingly their price offers have stopped.

Also completely different but really nice BASS bitter £1 a 0.5l bottle from Morrisons as is Marstons EPA £1

If you can get it also recommend Oakham Citra.

Seven Giraffes (Superb beer, once sold in Tesco)
