So someone like Bill Clinton or Barack Obama can have a ton of liberal ideas, but they have to be tempered to get through the House and the Senate. Do you get stuff like Don't Ask Don't Tell and the Affordable Care Act.

Many Democrats that live in so-called "swing states" have to be careful what they agree to because there's a Republican at home who will jump all over them and twist everything out of all proportion if they agree to anything that can be called "socialism". Joe Biden holds all the aces right now, but he's a moderate. We'll see what people like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Alexandria Ocascio Cortez can get done. We need taxpayer-funded healthcare here. Badly. More people go bankrupt do to unpaid medical bills than anything else. We'll see.

However, if you want to add family members you pay about $10,000.

Then when you use your health insurance there are "co-pays" and "deductibles". A visit to the doctor will cost you about $30. A procedure like an MRI or surgery can have a deductible of anything from $500 to $5000 before your insurance kicks in. Then there is the cost of drugs. Some people can spend $1000s a month on their medication. And of course, the insurance companies skim their profits off the top. $35B last year. That's over $1000 for every person in the US. It's a huge scam.

We had to pay $500 for my Mrs to have an MRI scan last month despite paying for full insurance.
