    this was interesting.

I'll wonder what they'll do when Scotland and northern Ireland leave the union

The St George Cross with the Welsh dragon in one corner. That would be ironic.

For all those who suffered and were slaughtered at the hands of British troops marching under the Ďbutcherís aproní that flag should be consigned to history and national identity reformed under a new banner.

    In my opinion

which flags would we be able to keep under that logic?

Design new ones more in keeping with a 21st century national identity.

We donít have to stick with what used to be.. we need something that reflects what will be.

Start with a different shape for example a triangle or a circle...

If only Wales and England remain in the union, then a nice big Welsh dragon (to make up for the years we had no representation) with a George cross squashed under the dragon's foot.

    I could live with that.

British Empire...Butcherís Apron ...the union. Itíll all be a thing of the past within the next 30 to 50 years.

Wales, along with Scotland will be better off as collaborators within the EU.

We can still deal with the English government.

I donít think proximity to england is an obstacle as Ireland manage ok as an EU outpost. Trade links between Wales and and Eire/Mainland Europe will have to be improved.

The thought of Wales as an appendage of an increasingly isolated England would appear considerably less attractive than the alternative.

    According to Wikipedia:

"Through history, the Welsh dragon was depicted with an erect penis to represent masculinity and fertility, but it appears that it wasn't until the mid 18th to late 19th century that the dragon was 'castrated' in the public eye..."

Interestingly there are no sources quoted for that section. And I can't recall seeing a picture of such a dragon, not that I#ve done an extensive search
