Solskjaer top of the Premier League

Cracking manager. Should have kept him.

He's proving the doubters, including myself wrong.

It’s one of the reasons I think Harris should be given this window to see if we can get to the playoffs like last season. His signings apart fro Benkovic have been excellent? Review at the end of the season! Most Manure fans have wanted Ole out for the last 18 months!

Horses for courses... She wasn't what the filly we thought she was at the time. She has matured but will ultimately fall short I reckon.

Puppet in a suit, there’s a guy who sits in the stand every game who didn’t do a bad job at Man Utd. I think he might still have a bit of an input.
Helps OGS got Phelan as well.

Not a chance. Twice in 20 years have teams got to the playoffs from a similar position or worse. Neither of them hit this point in the season with a string of defeats behind them. We need more than 2 points a game, from a side that don't look like scoring if Moore doesn't play and is conceding goals at a rate that would alarm teams near the bottom.

Proven a lot of Cardiff and Manure fans wrong , he's probably 3 signings away from being a classy unit , who will compete with Liverpool and Man City .

Simon Stone, BBC Sport at Turf Moor:

Ten years ago, if someone had said Manchester United supporters would be celebrating being top of the Premier League, they wouldn’t have been believed.

Three months ago, if someone had said they would be top now, they would have received a shake of the head.

Yet, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his squad deserve credit. After a woeful home defeat by Arsenal, they have collected 29 points from a possible 33 and deserve their place at the summit.

Solskjaer will not get carried away. Sunday’s opponents Liverpool and a Manchester City side that has found its winning groove have shown over the past few seasons they are rivals of the highest quality.

But for a club that has fallen so far from its peak – a second top four finish in a row would be a post-Ferguson first – being back at the head of affairs represents a welcome change.

And with a squad arguably deeper than anyone else’s, if maybe not the absolute highest quality, in a season as squeezed as this one, don’t completely disregard title 21 in 2021.
I still think that is going to matter a great deal when it comes to final placings in each league.

He has a massive squad of quality players and plenty of money to spend. How has he proven anyone wrong? Has he won the league already?

Shock aa man in charge of a squad full of quality players and internationals backed by one of the largest bank balances in club football takes them top of the league after a run of relatively easy games

Amazing what happens when you don't sign players to line your mate's pockets. He's got a team of world class players, so its hardly surprising they're doing well, even if he is doing a good job. Equally, if Spurs and Man City win tonight, they could be only be 4 points ahead of 6th. The latter are starting to hit their stride as well.

Well back a while before Xmas Man U fans and critics wanted him sacked and another manager installed .

It was a very unconvincing win against Burnley last night.
They'd have been punished in the last 10 minutes had Burnley had a poacher.

Solskjaer made a huge boo boo getting dumped out of the champions league with some strange decisions.
One by keeping Fred on when he'd lost his head and been booked was crazy, everybody bar him was saying get Fred off.
The sending off cost them dearly.

I'm still not convinced about Ole but the league is the most open it has been for years.

At the time some thought Russel Slade was the correct upgrade to clear his “mess”, and some still do, I see. Imagine where the club could be if we kept him on.

No, fair play to Ole, not many managers could spend £300m, have a squad packed with world class players and go top of the league after an easy run of fixtures

Same logic he faced at his time here. Had to sell more than he bought, and got shot down for it after 7 games. Same thing at Man Utd. Sold players and built a new team and instilled some grit. Make sure to not give him credit for it and keep sticking your heads in the sand..

Best time to play Liverpool as well I think, they’ve been quite poor in recent weeks and their home unbeaten run will have to come to an end at some point.

Since he became manager about 5 first team players have left United; Young, Valencia, Herrera, Lukaku and Fellaini. Of the 11 players to have started 10 or more league games this season, only 3 (Wan Bissaka, Fernandes & Maguire) were signed by Solskjaer. That's not building a new team. He inherited a very good squad of players, added 3 players who cost almost £200m between them and in fairness has them playing well

There's no defence for his record here, he took us over and made us worse. 44 goals conceded, 15 goals scored under Solskjaer compared to 30 conceded and 17 scored under Mackay. 12 points under Solskjaer, 17 under Mackay. He also oversaw some of the most gutless performances I've seen from a City side, 3-0 at Swansea, 3-0 at Newcastle, 4-0 at Sunderland, 4-0 against Hull, 3-0 against Palace. Pathetic. He also lumbered us with utter shit nobody else wanted that we had to pay off.

So yeah, great manager I wish him well

Clueless post! He had so sell the “spine” of the team. You know, the future spine of England. Players like Caulker, Frasier and Mutch. Player who have since shown how overrated they where to begin with. Players who had no interest in doing their own wrongs right once the going got tough.
Gutless is always on the players, and some know, an others like yourself don’t. If you had read Turners interview, you would know how much interference he had to endure from the top, and probably didn’t sign half of them players. Still, he has now showed he can develop players, and still you have dross like this post. He also played some of the best fotball Cardiff have played the past decade, but let us not focus on that, eh!? Letting him go was and is one of the biggest cock ups in the clubs history! We are back at square one, and haven’t progressed one bit. And we won’t until Tan and his muppetry is gone. End of saga.

Was it the 4-0 thrashing or the other 4-0 thrashing where we played our best football? Or perhaps the game where were leading 2-0 at half time and lost 4-2?

You dont think that first half of football we lost 2-4 was probably our best fotball post Dave Jones? Wow. I’m sure you are one of them thinking fotball is best in straight lines over the top. Warnock style.. And you might want to include how many players he have faced out, loaned out and how many players he has brought up from his own ranks at Man Utd. Completely new team, and Top manager stuff. we brought in Russel fecking Slade after seven games.
Also. Fans like yourself and Annie Abraham is a thing of the past! The club need a new owner and kids through the ranks. Potential is still there... Enjoy today’s match!

Fair play, I needed a laugh after that defeat. Maybe OGS should explain how he signed so many garbage players from his mate and then gave him massive agency fees? Letting that crook go is the best decision we ever made, appointing him in the first place is the worst. If we appointed someone to build on Mackay they might have stayed up but then they might be still in red, so maybe it was the best appointment we made .

We absolutely did not play good football under OGS, we were outclassed almost every week, he was clueless and out of his depth. Bellamy says as much in his interview, called him naive which is kind. The best football we've played recently was December and January when Lee Tomlin played out of skin. Before that it was early in the season 17/18 when we just blew sides away with pace and power but we could play, too. We beat Villa 3-0 and they were lucky it was only 3.

Fair play, truely! You are having an argument saying the manager on top of premier league was and is not good enough for Cardiff City. If you can’t recognise how far up your own ass that statement is, and not recognise the circumstances, no one can help you. Not even Bellamy, who is the only one who said anything resembling this crap out of all the players there. But sure, Man Utd was a top team, drooling with talent before Ole got there! It was all down to Louie and Mou not getting the best out of them.. It was all on Ole, the shit show we produced, and 7 games was all he needed with a semi of his own team 😂😂😂 And here we are! In the same spot, while he is on top 🤷*♂️

How about the corruption allegations? Want to address them? Cardiff won 3, drew 3 and lost 12 games in the PL under OGS. So yes, I can pretty safely say, he was naive, out of his depth and he didn't have a clue what he was doing. He tried to play football with a team that was built to be solid, compact and hard to beat and any idiot could have seen that was never going to work.
