I would rather have Apple Music or Tidal. They pay their artists more. Apple Music, I like their radio and it has music videos like Tidal does

Isn’t £17 the new price for a family subscription?

Spotify and the like pay very little to the artists.

    Buy vinyl in the independents.

    Re: Spotify Price Hike

I got my youngest spotify prem for Christmas, she didnt need it for the 1st few months of the year as she was home, then i cancelled our Amazon prime sub and had a E.mail telling me what i would miss if i cancelled it, one of the things was amazon music, well i installed the app on my spare iphone and away i went, i kept amazon prime in the end , i DL'ed 130 ( ish ) songs and created a off-line play list, then turned the wifi off and its the phone is just a music player for work

so daughter had a option, either have the 120 quid and use amazon prime music, or have spotify prem, she opted to have 60 quid and put the other 60 towards our holiday, so we now all have a off-line play list

so if you do have amazon prime, dont forget the music option, not all songs are on it ( they also do a music plus for a monthly sub which does have loads more songs on it ) but the free version is fairly decent

I just store all my music on a hard drive connected to my pc. I've got plex server running on it and plex on my phone. I can access the music and play it through my phone so long as i've got a signal or wi-fi. I think the plex app for my phone for about 3 quid. Plex server is free.

Then there’s people like me who rely on Spotify to check out new music, so I can then buy the vinyl down in Spillers if I like it.
