Thread: What does success for MM look like to you?

What does success for MM look like to you?

Fast forward six months into the future, what would it take for you to:-

    1. Call McCarthy's time here a success
    2. Keep him on full time

Re: What does success for MM look like to you?

A top 8 finish and getting players to receive, hold & successfully pass the ball

2 nothing, we need to move on from this type of manager.

    A top 10 finish.
Evidence of change a in style, several players cut from the squad, a blueprint for success with Tan on board.

This really. But I'm trying to be positive and feeling generous.

I'd rather Mick than someone like Monk, Lee Johnson, Warburton etc.

Finish somewhere around 12th but starting to report to the board on players that need moving on.
I doubt we will be playing passing football by May as survival will take precedence over attractive football.
Just hope the board use this time wisely to understand where the club needs to be going and have a short list of one or two young forward thinking managers that can plan the next 3 years.
    But not Mick...

Top half finish, one year extension.
Who is out there with contracts ending in 2022?
    The "Dream Team"?

The club have the time now to make the right appointment, every appointment has its risks but they at least have time to put the club in the right place come the summer.

    1. Finishing anywhere above 15th. Starting to feel like the number is part of the club’s name at the moment.
    2. Nowt against the bloke, but don’t think the unrealistic outcome of a PO spot or even more unrealistic outcome of managing to get promoted would be enough.

I feel like there's a middle ground between Mick and those guys (plus Monk plays shite football so no clue why you've lumped him in). I've always rated Alex Neil and think he could do a good job here and he's definitely not a hoofball merchant.

It looks to me like something a long way away and probably unreachable, sadly!

Nothing. A new, more forward thinking manager who has the opportunity to clear the deadwood and bring in some footballers.

    My thoughts exactly

    1. Quick rise away from any thoughts of relegation battle and sustaining somewhere near midtable. Bonus points given if Bagan, Harris and others to continue their development, and if Murphy and Nelson can get back to their best.

    2. Detailed plan covering the next two plus seasons to meet the brief of: more youth, more football, more forward thinking so we can be promoted 2022-2023 and have a better chance of staying up for more than two seasons.

I don't think he can change much with the midfield he is stuck with. Avoiding relegation will be a good result.

As the question is asked to individuals, Ill say that relegation never becoming an issue and some evidence of our Academy becoming a worthwhile entity would satisfy me, while evidence of us moving on from Warnockball would be a bonus- I reckon the club will take much less satisfying though.
