Updated strikers (who didn't really deliver) list and some of the good ones from the early 60's

Some on the long list were better than others but few came close to emulating Bothroyd, Chopra, Earnshaw at their best.
Some argue that Mason, Healy and others shouldn't be on the list and that others should be.

    Chris Pike did also.

I think George Johnston delivered in the mid-60's, playing alongside George Andrews. He was snapped up by Arsenal but I don't think he was overly successful with them.

He certainly did, as did Chris Pike and Kevin Bartlett, I was never a fan of Phil Stant as a person, but he was a success I think.I’d also say that Zohore was a success, he was great for a while and we sold him for a big profit. Peter Thorne’s gotta be there as well.

Two Farmington’s in the failures. Steve Finnieston was a good striker for Chelsea and I thought he did quite well while he was here as did the Flying postman.

Frank Sharp was a winger not a striker, as was Jon Brown.

Alan Foggon was also a winger, or midfielder but after he left us he was top scorer at Middlesbrough for 2 seasons.

So to sum up, about 70% of our strikers have been disappointing in their seasons with the City, however well they performed for other clubs.

Good job we don’t have the same failure rates amongst our goalies, defenders and midfielders!

Or, do most other clubs apart from the massive top premiership clubs have similar failure rates amongst their forwards?

Had a text about him the other day, he’s managing Stalybridge Celtic, although he goes by his correct name now, Simon Haworth
