    Hopefully banned in UK soon.

Do you think that the regime in China is the best arbiter of what respectable reporting is?

I'd like to know who you think is an arbiter of international reporting respect.

I’m more concerned about the UK regaining respect that it has lost internationally in recent years than further condemnation of the BBC which has just become a convenient punchbag for those on the right and the left these days.

the BBC is far from perfect, but there are a number of very influential billionaires who would love to see it emasculated, and it's embarrassing how readily people are willing to swallow their barely concealed agenda

There is no longer a sports stadium in the UK that could hold all of the people who have died of this virus in this country in the past year.

2,389,000 people have died of the virus worldwide.

World's most trusted news brand, most visited news website - why do you think that news empires that make their money from advertising and website paywalls might want to remove their biggest competitor?

the fact the BBC upsets those on the left and right in equal measure tells you all you need to know about its alleged agenda.

apparently what we really need is something like Fox News, which is totally impartial and trustworthy

An agenda of British centralism then? Or an agenda or maintaining the UK established way of doing things?

If the BBC goes it creates a massive vacuum which would probably be filled by lots of different things. Some call for a Russia Today or Fox News/Fox News Australia like programme but these have been accused of having a destabilising influence, the former on behalf of an authoritarian government and the latter for purpose of libertarian billionaires, and this would be the largest filler of the vacuum. In some countries that would gain "international reporting respect" but not sure it should.
