Who'd have imagined this score last summer?

Remember Wigan 8 Hull 0 last summer? This season's version of that fixture stands at Wigan 0 Hull 4 with less than an hour played - I do feel sorry for Wigan fans.

Wigan could do back-to-back relegations to League Two when they had earned the right to stay in the Championship.

    Ended 0 - 5.

Wigan one of what looks like seven teams trying to avoid relegation. Five point separate the bottom seven.

From 1985/86 to 2012/13, we finished higher in the league than Wigan on 4 occasions and lower than them on 24 occasions. Since we replaced them in the Premier League in 2013, we've always finished above them.

Just looked at the First Division table for only about the third time this season. At the other end of the table I would love to see to Lincoln and Accrington Stanley get promoted. Every dog should have his day in the sun and although both would probably end up going straight back down, it would be good for the supporters of both clubs who usually have to endure season after season of misery.

Fruits of a few spreadsheets created out of utter boredom in the first lockdown!

Very good win for Accrington last night (1-0 at Doncaster) and they've got a game or two in hand on many of those around them - much the same applies for Lincoln who are probably favourites to win the title at the moment.

Wigan are by no means doomed, but they've taken some right thrashings this season - I see Northampton, who stuffed us in the League Cup are in trouble as well.
