Doesn't surprise me at all. It was an expected part of any season to entertain some exotic foreign teams and often bear them.

And more importantly, it can never be beaten. After us with 14 appearances come a little known Spanish team called Barcelona with 13.

    Fame at last !

Definitely a "Did you know" masterpiece.

There's a few other unique moments isn't there , around FA Cup wins/appearances and the new Wembley attendance, that may not beaten??

Were we the first club outside of Premier to broadcast live to another country?

The 1927 final was the first to be broadcast on the radio, was the first to have Abide with Me before kick off, and because of the radio broadcast was thought to be the origin of the phrase 'back to square one'

Apparently we won the 'Algarve Cup' in 2008, which is quite the achievement given google tells me this is an international womens tournament.

It was the origin of “back to square one”. The BBC printed, I believe in the Radio Times, the pitch laid out into numberedsquares with the goalkeeper in square 1. This was to give the listener info of where the play was when listening to the commentary.

I thought the BBC but apparently it is urban myth like other things.

Radio Wales would do well to go back to basics instead of giving us score updates in league 1 or what the centre half had for breakfast.
Luckily haven't had to suffer them much since the pandemic
