Mick agent looking for a long term contract ,contacts a news outlet linking his client with Celtic , Cardiff react with a two year deal ?

    Celtic then deny any approach.

Agent looking out for his employee. Good on him.

I think they'll probably end up going for Howe

We do look good up front .

Its not football that would survive in the premier league.

For Cardiff to go forward properly they need to evolve .

They say that Rodgers went there after almost winning the premier league - and there was probably a time in the not too distant past that they could compete with clubs at the top level of the English pyramid.
In reality Rodgers was sacked with Liverpool in 10th, having finished 6th the previous season and performed poorly in Europe. He was out of work for half a year and certainly not linked with any big jobs in the premier league at that time. His reputation was very much improved by the time he finished his exploits at Celtic.

I've also seen some Celtic fans thinking they are going to poach the manager of Red Bull Saltzburg - I really can't see it personally, but stranger things have happened.
Its not beyond the realms of possibility, Celtic are a massive club. Its a chance to pick up some silverware, enhance your reputation and get paid well

Reasonably big club playing in a pub league.
An embarrassment in Europe every year losing out to other ďmickey mouseĒ clubs from third world countries
The money, opportunities to win local silverware and play in Europe will ensure they get a decent manager, but any achievements on his CV will be tempered by the lack of any opposition in the league.
Reasonably big is underselling them a bit, Wolves are a reasonably big club, Celtic are easily one of the biggest clubs in Britain

I am sure Rangers will try and run them close again next season .

When we were put out in red , he said it was fine , it was only a colour . So he was asked about Celtic changing from the green and white to say , red ..
    He skipped the question ...

don't underestimate the decline of Scottish football over the last couple of decades though, money has left the game.
most championship clubs get way more revenue than almost all of the spl.

the job is a bit of a poisoned chalice as well I'd say. whoever goes in basically has to win multiple trophies not to be considered a failure.

I can't see someone walking out in Rb saltzburg who dominate the Austrian league, and have had some good European campaigns recently, and where there's a good chance that you could get shifted up.to r b Leipzig when someone comes in for nagelsmann.

No we didn't. He cost us the playoffs.

Also don't want MM here longer than this season, that's not to say he isn't doing an excellent job which of course he is. He is doing what we brought him in to do and that's a short term fix and doing it brilliantly.

I'm not saying he'll definitely go, but Celtic are on another level to most clubs. In spite of the poor standards of Scottish football they averaged 57,000 fans

Having to win trophies and dominating a poor European league would hardly be a huge change in circumstance for someone who managed Salzburg, but Celtic certainly have a higher ceiling. Getting them into Europe with the European money flowing in limits the importance of domestic TV revenues

So, scenario for you. We get into play offs, win the final and get promoted to Premier League and then your recommendation would be to get rid of Mick McCarthy !! Some people will just never admit they are wrong.

100%, if you would choose quality of football over winning then I don't know what to say to you
