So true. I despair over those who continually slag him off. You can see now how specialist a position wing-back is.

It’s comforting to know that the youngsters can wellie the ball to no one just as well as the more experienced team mates. The future is bright.

Spot on, though most on here can’t seem to see that.

    It was woeful.

In fairness I thought Sang was one of the few players out there who did look to pass to another blue shirt rather than kick it up the field as far as you can

But while that might sound like the right option, McCarthy said he had to make sure the game was not lost and Moore's importance at the other end of the pitch was a factor in not making those substitutions.

"It would be nice if we had a replacement for Kieffer Moore," McCarthy said.

"I've just been asked if I could put other substitutes on to win the game. Yeah, well, I could take him off and that might lose us the game.

"They were massive as well and we have to defend free-kicks and corners."
Will admit I got it wrong if we do make the play-offs but really can't see what we gained from a "don't lose" mindset yesterday apart from i) easing pressure on weekend's game - good pr for the club if we win the next one and ii) fearing three defeats on the bounce - extremely bad pr if we lose on the weekend. To me, a club really wanting play-offs at the end of the season looks to win the game against a Stoke side in terrible form, especially as they had to make an unplanned and early sub to their striker.
