One of the biggest problems we kept facing under Neil Harris was the disturbing regularity with which we conceded the opening goal in games, particularly early on in matches. We now haven't conceded the first goal in a game for the last 12 games.

Over those 12 games we've kept 8 clean sheets, one away from the club record of 9 for the same number of games. In the modern era, we've only once kept 8 clean sheets in 12 games, during the 12 games up to and including the FA cup semifinal against Barnsley and Burrows' side in October-Dec 1998.

During those 12 games, we've only conceded 5 goals, a figure only bettered in modern times by that run by Dave Jones' FA cup heroes, when they conceded 4.

Either way, we're witnessing one of the best defensive runs in the club's history. When Harris was sacked, we had the 8th worst defensive record in the Championship. Now, only 4 teams have conceded less goals than us.

It might not be pretty, but at least we've now got a decent foundation at the back.
