Football is increasingly about money but big clubs have always been able to fall and be replaced by others. This stops that from happening while also damaging international football and whatever remains of club football.

If football needs to become more like US sport then there are a lot better options to take first.
US Football has a salary cap and a draft system where the team with the poorest record gets the first pick of new talent. It's not ideal, but it's better than a European Super League.
