I'm not one to gloat but I've just had a post-coastal path pint in the sun at a pub overlooking Beer beach.

Or are you only concerned about the service industry, like that Lisvane Blue, not a murmur about the poorest, most vulnerable etc having services cut, just butchers shops, camper vans and pubs-who'd have thought that from a Tory
You miss my point. OK services were cut all around and although not nice for anyone they were, a the time, an essential part of Covid protection and keeping people isolated. Gladly times have changed and vaccinations have changed the scene. So, why the reluctance by the Senedd to get things moving again...including the things you mention.

On the TV news tonight it was said that pubs and restaurants may fully reopen 17 May if cases in Wales continue to decline. There were only 63 cases in Wales reported today, how low does it have to go?

I'm not missing your point. I don't know why the Senedd are reluctant to open up at the moment, that's a question for them, not me. Drakeford is obviously cautious, especially after the mistakes after the last lockdown, although not all of that down to him in my opinion, although he must take some responsibility.

I think that you miss my point, which is that it seems that you and a few others haven't evened out your criticism in closures of businesses or more to the point, you not being able to use them, with criticism towards the government of stopping essential services overnight, kids not being able to access social care, vulnerable adults not getting the care they needed, essential works on social housing effectively stopped for the best part of a year, families without hot water and heating. It happened, and in my opinion the Senedd got that wrong, even though it was for a shorter time than business closure. I haven't heard you show any concern for the closure of these services. You've been more concerned about Camper vans and sausages.

It does seem to be a trend that the ones shouting loudest are shouting over the not so important things. We all want a return to somewhere near normal and when we do I do hope that the most neediest are first in the queue and not the loudest shouters.

I don't have a problem with people wanting pubs open, restaurants, Butchers etc, and their frustration because they can't use these places, It's only natural to want to get back to normal as quickly as possible, i want them open as well. What i fail to understand is the self serving attitude of some people who have made no attempt in considering a large portion of the population who haven't been able to access essential services, because they don't use them. Smacks of selfishness in my opinion.

Could be a bit of conflict when we do return to normal, I can just imagine someone in a pub when in conversation in a pub, and Covid and the return will be the biggest talking point I reckon, decrying the lockdowns and restrictions we’ve had imposed on us. This could be heard by another customer who has maybe lost a mam or dad due to the laxness and easing of earlier rules, the beer kicks in and things could get out of hand. Interesting times.

Just to put you straight on camper vans and sausages. They are examples of how government reaction to this pandemic restricts peoples lives, often unnecessarily. And all the points you mention are also a consequence of that.
Drakeford and his essential and non essential rules for shops impacted on businesses, as do his travel rules....one day I can only travel 5 miles, the next I can travel anywhere in Wales, but not cross the Severn Bridge which is just 30 miles away. Whatever way you look at it these things are nonsense.
Now, that Covid is under control we find the NHS, which we all were told to protect, is in tatters and people's quality of life will suffer for years because of it.
Closer to home the things that have impacted on me most are two family members catching Covid, one a hospital consultant who has been at the sharp edge. Further three friends who have died from Covid. Sausages and camper vans are well down my list.

I think they should all be opened, but a lot of those services you so socially caringly espouse were underfunded and under provided for even before the pandemic struck. Perhaps they ought to sort that out.
And keeping places closed destroys families when such a percentage of the welsh working people work in these places. It is putting families, some of which have or develop the problems you mention in the short term, due to lack of money, and some out of work entirely in the long term, in danger of stretching these services even more.
The essential work on social housing didn't need to stop, the construction industry worked right through the pandemic, that was a local government or business decision to save money on the back of central government.
As we know, it isn't the Senedd making these calls, nor even the Welsh government, it is Mark Drakeford, being the overbearing bully he is reported to be.

Sausages are so far down your list of priorities that I seem to remember you wrote to your AM to to complain about being denied the chance to buy them in Brecon. Surprised you haven't chained yourself to the Senedd railings on some of the issues you found more important.

The travel restriction nonsense in a global pandemic? Really lets see packed out tourist spots everywhere.

Some places were bad enough with the restriction.

Yes, it all relates to the stupid travel rules again. I'm surprised with so many medics giving advice to Drakeford that none have told him that you can't catch Covid travelling alone in a car with windows shut. At the time travelling to a butchers in Brecon from Cardiff was banned but I could have legitimately caught a flight from Cardiff to Alicante and visited a butchers shop there.

Yep, its all a load of mincemeat of rules , it smacks of people being unable to handle a strategy.

Enjoy , from Monday we will be able to drink freely on the pavements of Canton, as we watch the spectacular sunset as it dips over Radiocraft , beat that 😄
