ANYBODY ON HERE INVEST IN GOLD?

Listening to a two fella's earlier one who was saying he buys gold as more of a long term investment the other was saying he buys and sells it.
Made me wonder is it worth investing in gold i notice a few on here invest in Bitcoin and the like so thought i'd see if any posters are in the know regarding gold..

I have done a little Gold and Silver.

I don’t actually buy or sell gold, but I do own quite a few shares in gold miners Centamin, Solgold and Petropavaksk.
Their share price does swing quite rapidly during most years so there is money to be made if you get it right

Any metal at the moment, most are rising rapidly. Might be worth checking out Tin & Zinc

Yeah, depending on what’s going on in the World.

Silver is currently around $28 per ounce.
Not to far of the 5 year high of nearly 30.
5 year low for an idea was $12 per ounce.

Palladium too, I thought I lost my wedding ring 18 months ago, I left it in one of those grey trays as you go through customs at Gatwick.
Assumed it was lost. Priced up the same one I bought for 200 12 yrs ago and it was 1300....fortunately I had a flash back I remembered putting it in the tray and by some miracle got it back on my return to the uk

Any reputable places to buy from i'm sure there are plenty of scammers and dodgy sellers out there that are best avoided.

Not sure if they are in the UK or not.
Selling is a different kettle of fish...no real plans to at the moment...but there are more reputable places than pawn shops and back street jewelers.
