Question of Sport came to its end, in it’s current format, last night.

As a lover of sport QS provided great entertainment and a test of my sporting knowledge when it first aired in 1970.
A programme not to be missed and remained so for many years. 50+ years I still watch it when able although more for the light entertainment rather than to test my poor knowledge of modern sport.

The format has remained pretty much the same.

It will be back with a new presenter and two new captains. Obviously somebody thought it time to shake it up.

It will be interesting to see the changes which will undoubtedly be influenced by current pressures and persuasions.

I hope it doesn’t go to far from the original concept.

I used to love it when it was Coleman, Beaumont and Botham. It was watchable with parrot and mccoist. But I can't bring myself to watch it with Dawson and tuffers. Tuffers is borderline bearable on the radio but a bit of a tit on the telly. Dawson is beyond irritating, so I've not watched it for a decade. Pleased to hear it's getting a shake up. I just hope they dont get savage or Sutton involved.

There was a cracking board game that went with it in the 1990s too. Came in a green box.

Probably. She seems to be everywhere like a latter day Clare Balding.

I believe Alex Scott is yes.

I watched a YouTube vid of an outraged Alex Bellfield "the voice of reason" a few weeks ago with him saying that the BBC have dumped on Sue Barker.
The bloke does have an axe to grind with the BBC though and I disagree with him on this.

I didn't mind SB (Coleman was my favourite) but Q of S does need a shake up and agree that Tuffers is bearable but Dawson is very irritating.

Wonder who the captains will be. Not Shearer please!

Victoria Pendleton is bonkers would be interesting.

Anyone is better than John Parrot.

I used to watch it years ago, with the likes of Gareth Edwards, Emlyn Hughes, Cliff Morgan...

And the best bit was "what happened next", which I believe was dumped a while ago (I haven't watch it in ages)

I've found it less enjoyable with almost every change of line-up.

I enjoy the current format and like the Dawson/Tuffers captaincies.
Not sure about Alex Scott. Very easy on the eye but I wish she would pronounce her “g” instead of saying “buyin, sayin etc etc.
Printing Patel has the same problem.

Would be happy with Dion Dublin as a captain.Likeable chap.

    I feel exactly the same.
Unfortunately it was the inclusion of minority sports to appease the PC brigade, that lost its pulling power for me .

It went from, you think you know, or attempt to know an answer, to, you’d never even heard of the sport in question.

    A bit University Challengey

Saw a clip of QOS on YouTube a while back and Bill Beaumont was puffing away on a fag while answering a question.
    Different times as they say.

Agree. He's also not a big fan of Naga Munchetti nor Piers Morgan. All good in my book

What pressures and persuasions do you mean?

I stopped liking it when the panellists thought they had to begin to try to be funny, as most of them don't make good comedians.
