Stepped on sand where a disposable bbq had been.
Those things should be banned. though not dangerous themselves, the people using them seem to be irresposible in many cases.
The article says a similar thing happened a year ago, and I recall some campers brought one into their tent to "keep warm" overnight - and died from CO poisoning.

Dreadful things if not disposed of properly.
Had to take my lad to hospital when he was about 10 after he dived on one which had about an inch of sand scraped over it on the beach. He had 10 stitches in his shin.
I detest lazy cnuts who litter everywhere.
