    He was offside though, as was the Benzema ‘goal’, aren’t these the decisions that justify VAR

    The move has to finish. If the play stops on the linesman's flag and it's a wrong decision, then no one will ever know if that mistake stopped a goal from being scored.

    I am definitely not a fan of VAR, but the rule is logical. And to be fair, VAR has been used very well in the tournament so far, unlike the dogs dinner in the Premier and Champions Leagues.
